It's all about...food

Hi, nice to meet you, thanks for stopping by.

I’m a self-taught cook with a habit of making four too many dishes at any given time. It started as a child - my favourite meal was “pic-a-nic”. Not the hamper, rug, park kind of picnic. This was the name I gave to a plate of small, neat mounds of different foods I was able to eat with my hands. Raw carrot, slices of cucumber, cashew nuts, rolls of ham, cream cheese and water biscuits. Legs bouncing on the chair, toes curled with delight, a slightly dreamy glaze across my eyes. I wasn’t fussed for plates of meat ‘n’ two veg, or pasta and sauce. It felt like I was missing out. My aim in life was and still is eating as many different things as possible.

The world of food and food culture is kaleidoscopic - a constantly evolving set of traditions and processes, stuffed full of colour, growing from one to the next, back to the first, then on to the other. From those early days of a solitary “pic-a-nic” at our kitchen table, I’ve always been enamoured, some may say mildly obsessed, with making and eating food.

Fast-forward. I lived in Italy for two years witnessing what it means to have a real food culture. I was lucky enough to work with an incredibly talented chef in Umbria, on her beautiful farm, growing vegetables and fruits, tending chickens, dogs and flowers. Back in London, I tried a brief stint as a pastry chef in a Mayfair restaurant, but it wasn’t for me. Skip forward a few more years, I’ve left my office job and I’m a yoga teacher. A colleague asks me cook for her retreat, in Mexico, in the jungle, in an outdoor kitchen. Yes, it was a brilliant as it sounds. Next up, a retreat in southern Italy. Back here in London, catering for ‘day-retreats’, hen-party weekends, dinners, lunches and celebration cakes.

So that brings us up to the now. From my tiny kitchen in Peckham, I’ve previously offered weekly-changing menus available for delivery or collection. I’m always available for bespoke requests (dinners, lunches, brunches, birthdays, anniversaries, date nights), and, when we’re able to, I’m here for weekends away, holidays and yoga retreats. Go ahead and get in touch. Let me handle the food so you can handle the fun.
